Found on central Florida's Gulf Coast on the banks of the serene Sarasota Bay, Sarasota is a thriving city that experienced growth four times faster than the national average throughout the last five years. White sandy beaches, a vibrant art, music and theater scene, as well as more than 50 acclaimed golf courses attract people of all ages to this diverse and growing community. Tourism and recreation are the biggest supporters of Sarasota's economy and account for 65% of the jobs in the county. In 2004, a Manpower survey indicated the Sarasota-Bradenton metro area had the 4th best job outlook in the nation. Sarasota's food service industry alone is forecasted to experience 20% growth through 2012. Students interested in the culinary arts can choose from a number of renowned institutions, including Capital Culinary Institute of Keiser College and Sarasota County Technical Institute. Off-campus, students might enjoy catching spring training practices of the Pittsburgh Pirates or Cincinnati Reds or visiting the popular beaches along Siesta Key, Longboat Key, or Lido Key. Sarasota is also known as the Circus Capital of the World and is home to Circus Sarasota and the Ringling Museum of Art.
